Aims and Scope
The objective of this research journal is to improve and share recent developments and evidence based medical knowledge nationally and internationally without any political or money making intention. It deals with the publication of research in all medical fields including surgical, medical, oncology, basic medical sciences etc. from inside the country and abroad. It contains original articles, review articles and case reports.

Manuscripts submitted for publication must describe human research studies which should have been performed in accordance with the ethical standards laid down in Helsinki Declaration in 1964. In case of animal research studies, “Principals of laboratory animal care (NIH Publication No. 86-23, Revised 1985) should have been followed.

The Chief Editor reserves the right to reject manuscripts which do not comply with the instructions to authors and other ethical requirements.

Regularity and Transparency
It is published quarterly in a year. Each volume of the issue has four numbers in a year i.e. number 1 on 1^st April, number 2 on 1^st July, number 3 on 1^st October and number 4 on 1^st January of every year. The articles are evaluated by maintaining full transparency through Platform & Workflow by OJS / PKP.

Editorial Board and Advisory Board
This journal has a diverse Editorial Board comprising of national and international scholars from the different medical fields. It is revised every year. It holds its meetings regularly.

Unique Identifiers, Structured Data and Indexations
It is indexed with International Standardized Serial Number (ISSN) and eISSN, Citefactor, Digital Object Identifier (DOI), Google Scholar, Pakmedinet. Journal allow the ORCID IDs to be present in article matadata. Annals of Punjab Medical College (APMC) Comply with I4OC Standards for open citations.  Open references are made publically from crossref.

Recognition
It is recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) and Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad

Submission of Articles
Research Articles for Publication in APMC should be written in the light of Instructions to Authors as given in the website and hard copy of the Journal. Articles for publication in Annals of PMC should be submitted to the Editor of APMC online. For this purpose, it is mandatory for the authors and peer reviewers to regeister themselves by making a personal account for submission of articles and for responding as peer reviewer. 

Letter of Undertaking
The article should be accompanied by a Letter of Undertaking stating that the author transfered the copyrights of this manuscript to The Annals of Punjab Medical College (APMC), the said article is not submitted to any other Journal for publication and is approved from Ethical Review Committee / IRC of the Institution.

Processing
Research articles are processed on first come first serve basis. After submission of an article, it is evaluated by the Editor / Editorial Board. If it fulfills all the criteria for the publication it is placed in further process line. Processing time is generally 3 weeks to 3 months subject to in time quick response of peer reviewer as well as author of the article in making the article eligible for publication. After fulfilling the criteria for the publication of article, the articles are published on first come first serve basis.

Plagiarism & Similarity Index
Plagiarism and similarity reports from Turnitin plagiarism software or authenticate software are compulsory requirement for each and every article before publication.
• Research articles are accepted after checking similarity index which should be less than 19%.
• Plagiarism shall be a punishable offence and any author found guilty of plagiarism will be liable for disciplinary action as per international guidelines.

Peer Review
Each article is peer reviewed by the two peer reviewers. One from the inside country and a good number of articles from Abroad. Peer reviewers do this work free of charges on a volunteer basis. Peer review is conducted on the double blind basis. Articles are sent to the peer reviewers online without disclosing the identity of the authors. The peer reviewers respond online. If the reports of the two peer reviewers contradict, then the article is sent to the 3rd peer reviewer. Finally, the report of the majority is accepted. Then according to the final report the article is accepted for publication or sent back to the author to make suggested minor / major changes or re-write accordingly. Peer reviewers do their work on a voluntary basis and nothing is paid to them in any form. Early publication of the article depends upon the proper and quick response of the peer reviewer as well as author of the article. The authors are kept fully aware of the progress of the publication process at different steps.

Articles will not be peer reviewed from the faculty members belonging to institution owning the Annals of Punjab Medical College i.e. Faisalabad Medical University, Faisalabad as per policies and SOPs of the HEC.

Conflict of Interest
The authors must declare if there is any kind of obligation from any individual / organization. Conflict of interest are addressed strictilly and in case of violation action is taken according to international giudlines.

Complaints by Authors
APMC Organization is doing its best to facilitate the authors in submission / processing and publication of their articles. Any how in case of any inconvenience, complaint can be made at editor@apmcfmu.com.

Distribution
After completion of the publication process, the Journal is uploaded on its website www.apmcfmu.com and copies are printed as well in time. The printed copies are sent through post mail to all authors, members of the editorial board and to different medical libraries free of any charges. It can be viewed, copied and cited from online source without any payment. All the issues of the journal are available on the website in Current Issue and Archive.

Website
This Journal owns its own OJS / PKP website (www.apmcfmu.com) which contains all the previous issues from 2007 – to date which can be viewed online 24/7 free of cost. All the required informations are available on this website.

Feedback
Authors and other segments of the people related to the Journal are encouraged to send their feedback to improve the quality of publication and facilitation of the authors and peer reviewers.

Quality Assurance: The meetings of the Editorial Board are held quarterly to keep the quality of the Journal at a high level during different phases of its publication.

Fees / Payments
It is fully funded by the Faisalabad Medical University, Faisalabad and no payment is received from any other source like author, advertisement or any other funding agency. Chief Editor and Editor are working on voluntary basis and rest of staff and gadgets of APMC office are provided by Faisalabad Medical University, Faisalabad.

Withdrawal and Retraction of Article
The author can withdraw research article before the peer review process. The Editorial Board can retract the research article even after the publication if some misconduct is proved on the part of author. Whole responsibility will be on the author and he / she can be blacklisted by the Editorial Board depending upon the gravity of misconduct.

Open Access
Annals of Punjab Medical College is an open access journal. All parts of its publication can be accessed, downloaded, distributed, cited and reported free of charges without making any alteration in the published material. APMC Journal comply with 14OC standards for open citation. There are no submission or processing charges for the research articles submitted to APMC for publication. It is distributed free of cost to authors and the libraries of the medical institutions. 

Repository Policy
Annals of Punjab Medical College is an open access journal where authors are entitled to make their articles publically available. 

Authors who have published under a CC BY-NC 4.0 licence may share and distribute their article on non-commercial websites and repositories.

When posting, distributing or reusing Open Access articles, the journal should be clearly attributed as the original place of publication and correct citation details should be given. Authors should also deposit the URL/DOI of their published article in any repository, in addition to the Version of Record.

Author’s Original Manuscript: You can share your AOM as much as you like, including via social media, on a scholarly collaboration network, your own personal website, or on a preprint server intended for non-commercial use (for example arXiv, bioRxiv, SocArXiv, etc.). Posting on a preprint server is not considered to be duplicate publication.

Accepted manuscript (AM): If your article is accepted for publication it becomes the Accepted Manuscript. This version has been through the peer review process and been accepted by a journal editor.

Version of Record (VOR): The final, definitive, citable version of your paper, which has been copyedited, typeset, had metadata applied, and has been allocated a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). This is the published version.

On publication you can link to the Version of Record using the DOI or you can post the article PDF on any non-commercial websites and repositories.
